This morning, Norm was busily looking for something before he ran out the door to arrive at work early (as requested by his bossman). Lights were blaring, things were being shuffled around, the cats were asking him to let them out and I woke up – well, partially anyways.
“Quiet,” I mumbled loud enough the second time to be heard. Quiet I got, but…
What was astonishing to me was that at the same time (which was 4:35am), the song birds and other birds in our neighborhood started singing. This neighborhood has older trees that tower at least a dozen feet high. I’m sure that every single inch of every single branch was filled with joyfully singing birds. At least it sounded that way!
That incredible bird song continued for two hours until the sun graced the desert sky. In my drowsiness, I thought that I never realized that it was the birds that called forth the sun.
So, of course, I had to write about it! You can read the new prose by going to > Bringing in the Dawn
Don’t forget to thank your local birds for doing their duty!!
